Lagun: Tiny Beach Village, Big Local Food at the End of the Road

5 sitios · actualizado 26 de mayo de 2026

Lagun is where the road ends and the real Curaçao begins. This small fishing village on the northwest coast is built around one of the island's most sheltered and beautiful bays — and the food here matches the setting: simple, local, and genuinely good. Tur Tur Snack is the main act, and it is exactly the kind of spot this island does best.

Más sobre esta guía

Tur Tur Snack at Playa Lagun is a local institution in the truest sense. It sits at the edge of the bay, open-air and unpretentious, serving grilled fish, local snacks and cold drinks to whoever shows up. There is no glossy menu. What is fresh is what they cook. If the fishing boats came in, you eat what they caught. That is the deal, and it is a good one.

Lagun is also a short drive from Playa Kenepa — one of the most photographed beaches on the island — which makes it a natural stop on any northwest loop. The combination of Kenepa's turquoise water and a proper fish plate at Lagun is one of the better days you can have on this island. Come prepared: Lagun is small, parking is limited and things run out.

The village has a genuine community feel that tourism has not yet flattened. Locals live here, fish here, and eat here. The pace is slow in the way that only really remote Curaçao is slow. You will not find a cocktail list or a curated brunch. You will find cold drinks, good fish and a view that costs nothing.
