Immanuel Café is a spectacular representation of the bold, authentic flavors of Curaçao. This unassuming, hole-in-the-wall spot delivers some of the best local food the island has to offer—well worth the drive from anywhere on the island. The staff and team were fantastically friendly, no wait for the seating, relaxing meal and there was plenty of parking. While the setting isn’t fancy, it’s clean, comfortable, and full of character. Even the bathrooms, though simple, were clean. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The rich, flavorful boganese were unforgettable, and the beef and goat burgers—were a cut above. The tamarind juice and fruit punch were equally delicious, perfectly complementing the meal with bright, refreshing flavors. If you want authentic Curaçao cuisine in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, Immanuel Café is a must-visit. Don’t leave without picking up their cookbook—and be prepared to say “yum” more than once.
