Food trucks are a deeply rooted tradition on the island of Curaçao, spanning decades and generations. They're one of those special aspects that make Curaçao, and indeed the ABC islands, so unique. They're culinary, cultural, and social hubs all over the island where you meet friends, interact with other customers, laugh, and enjoy amazing food, whether you eat in or take it away. Food trucks typically open at night and close before dawn, and locals and tourists alike flock to them like clockwork, lining up before they even open. For locals, good food is serious business, and they take food trucks very seriously. Just ask one, and you'll see. Here in Curaçao, they're called "truki pan," and they vary in what they serve, from local delicacies like snail (karko), goat (kabritu), chicken feet (pia di galinja), pig's tail (rabu di porko), cow's tail (rabu di baca), keshi, or something as simple as wings and fries. We'll say that even wings and fries, made with a truki pan twist, are unlike anything you've ever tasted before: a whole different level of deliciousness that will make your eyes roll! 😋 Are they all good? No. There's a wide range, and sometimes it's a matter of personal taste and preference. However, there are food trucks that transcend that range, and people visit them constantly, no matter what, because they're so good! Expresso Truki Pan is one of them. This place? Delicious! Period. We can't stop talking about how delicious the food is. It's plentiful, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and always delicious. Excellent food, with a great variety and at a great price. We shared a small plate, and that was enough for both of us—we were still able to eat! We tried the grilled galijna (chicken), the rabo di baca (oxtail), and the pork chop, and we plan to try the others. There are so many! They're all amazing! They also have soup (sopi): seafood, chicken, and others. Always hot! The service is friendly, fast, and punctual, just like the food. It's our favorite place in Curaçao. Expresso Truki Pan opens at 9:00 PM and closes at 3:00 AM. 😲 Yes, that's the schedule. 😁 Customers start lining up around 8:00 or 8:30 PM. Next time you're in Curaçao, don't miss this place! Cards and swipes are not accepted, but there is an ATM across the street (Banco de Caribe).
