After not being able to score a reservation at Ovean Z last year, we were so looking forward to dining there on our recent trip based on the 4.9 rating and high praise on trip advisor. Boy, were we misled. Beautiful restaurant, great service. Good appetizers, great risotto and good sea bass. The pasta dishes were lackluster. The lamb chops were nothing but fat and the red snapper special was inedible. We brought this to our server’s attention and the owner came over to (condescendingly) let us know why the snapper was not what we are used to. Her explanation made no sense, and she totally lost me when she said that all the thick overcooked pieces just so happened to go only to our table. She was apologetic and took the fish off the bill but didn’t offer a comped dessert or drink for our trouble. When I let her know how disappointed we were, she said that our dessert was supposed to have been comped. Yet nothing was done about that! This was night 1 of our trip. Fortunately the meals improved drastically from there. Fabulous dinners were had at: Madam Janette’s, Oak, Italy in the World & Azzuro.

Ocean.Z delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The service was phenomenal—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Every detail in the restaurant felt intentional and well thought out, which added to the overall atmosphere and experience. The food was outstanding and truly memorable. For dinner, we ordered the paella, the branzino, and the filet mignon, and every single dish was prepared to perfection. Each plate was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The drinks were equally impressive and paired perfectly with the meal. For appetizers, we enjoyed the ceviche and the salmon risotto, both of which were excellent. A special highlight was their famous tomato and goat cheese soup. It’s no longer on the menu, but if you request it in advance, it is absolutely worth it. Goat cheese might sound unexpected in a soup, but the combination is incredible and will completely change your perspective. Ocean.Z is a place for people who truly appreciate great food, thoughtful details, and top‑tier service. Without question, this restaurant deserves a five‑star rating. I look forward to coming back.
