Netto Bar opened its doors in 1954 on Breedestraat in Otrobanda. Founded by Ernesto 'Netto' Koster — a name that needs no introduction on the island. Ernesto kept working until his health began to fail in his late eighties. Even after retiring, he would have himself driven to Otrobanda to visit his beloved bar, greet the patrons, and check that the Ròm Bèrdè supply was up to standard. In 2002 he passed away — six months before Netto Bar's 50th anniversary.

Oldest bar on the island, and for good reason! The green rum was delicious, for me it felt like a smoother and more palatable form of Jagermiester. The bartenders were class act and very hospitable. Definitely a must visit location while you're on the island if you like to drink, or just enjoy historic spots.

The oldest bar in Curacao! Loved the vibe, friendliest bartender, and tasty house cocktails with green rum! If you ever try a shot of rom berde, try it both warm and chilled to see which you like most because the taste is vastly different!
