And I accidentally dropped a fragile glass cup that cost £12.50 on the floor. The girls who were working there were swearing and their behaviour was unprofessional, using language that was very inappropriate towards customers. They called a supervisor, who said I had to pay half, so I paid £6.25, but I had been told that I shouldn't have to pay because many tourists go there and accidentally break something and the supermarket itself replaces it. Well, I paid, but I went to the security guard to ask him about it. The security guard was very friendly and helpful and took me to two managers who work downstairs. and they told me that I really shouldn't have to pay. The young female manager went to ask about it for me and find out what happened. When she came back, she said she didn't see why I had to pay, but that they are two different departments: the ones downstairs don't pay for accidents, but the ones upstairs have a rule that they do. Okay, I had already paid, so that didn't bother me so much. What really upset me about the second-floor shop was the staff. They have a very bad attitude and are not helpful or ethical. The supervisor there also has a very bad attitude. I would never go back to that place unless it was just to buy food downstairs.
