Malmok: The Northwest Corner of Aruba Where the Water Wins
0 spots · updated May 27, 2026
Malmok and Boca Catalina occupy the northwest tip of Aruba, past the high-rise hotels of Palm Beach. The snorkeling here is some of the best on the island, the beaches are less crowded, and the food scene is casual and honest — beach bars rather than restaurants.

The coastline at Malmok is dotted with small beach access points and the kind of informal spots that feed snorkelers and sunbathers without any pretension. Pick you up Aruba at Malmok Beach is the standout snekkie in the area — a mobile setup that draws a loyal crowd for fresh, satisfying food with a view of the turquoise water.
Malmok Pool Bar & Grill at L.G. Smith Blvd 101 is the most established food and drink spot in the area, with a terrace that overlooks the water and a menu that covers the basics well. It is the natural first or last stop for a Malmok beach day. The Sunset Bar at J.E. Irausquin Blvd 81 provides the closest proper bar experience to the northern beaches.
The broader Noord area, which connects Malmok to Palm Beach, has additional food options. Rise & Dine in Noord is excellent for breakfast before a beach day. Pomms & Co at J.E. Irausquin Blvd 382A is a solid lunch option in the same corridor. Il Giardino at Palm Beach 374 fills the evening dining gap in this stretch.
Malmok works best as a half-day beach trip combined with food — swim, then eat, then drive back through Palm Beach. Come early to secure a good snorkeling spot along the coast.
