Aruba Sunset Drinks: Where the Sun Meets the Sea

2 spots · updated May 27, 2026

Aruba sits outside the hurricane belt and has one of the most consistent sunsets in the Caribbean — the sun drops into the sea on the western coast almost every evening in a blaze of orange and pink. Locals and visitors alike have learned to build the end of the day around it: cold Balashi in hand, feet in the sand, watching the horizon.

More about this guide

Eagle Beach is the most famous sunset strip on the island. The beach bars along the stretch between the low-rise hotel zone and Malmok are unpretentious — plastic chairs, cold beer, local rum drinks and occasionally live music. Malmok itself is a quieter spot, popular with locals who bring their own coolers and park at the water's edge. Further north, the California Lighthouse area offers elevated views over the northwest tip of the island. The bar scene around the lighthouse is more casual than Palm Beach, with a mix of expats, locals and budget travellers. Whatever spot you choose, the rule is simple: get there 30 minutes before the sun touches the horizon.
